PROPERTY FIELD NOTES

Before your home contract review.

A useful first conversation starts with the right information.

01. The people and property

Have the property address and county, the names of buyers and sellers, and your real estate agent or brokerage. Identify whether the property is a house, condo or co-op.

02. The proposed transaction

Keep the proposed contract, riders and offer terms available for counsel after the firm accepts the engagement. Flag a requested deposit, financing condition or unusual possession arrangement.

03. Your timing

Identify every date already communicated to you. Distinguish a hoped-for closing date from a deadline in a document you have signed.

04. Your financing

Know the type of financing you expect to use and any lender timeline. Ask counsel which loan or approval documents are relevant before transmitting them.

05. Your questions

List what you do not understand and the decisions you need to make. Review the legal commitments before signing.

General preparation information, not advice for a specific transaction. Your attorney's review and the signed documents control. Please wait for the firm's instructions before sharing confidential documents.
